Street circuit debut for Manchester at the Norisring

Another new test lies in wait for Jack Manchester this weekend as he makes his street circuit debut at the infamous Norisring in the third round of the 2017 Audi Sport TT Cup. Just in his second year of competitive racing, this weekend will mark the talented 18-year old’s first ever experience of racing around a street circuit – a challenge Jack cannot wait to get to grips with.

Fresh off the back of successful weekends at Silverstone and Rockingham in the Radical Challenge Championship, Jack’s jam-packed calendar continues as he switches back to European competition and dons the Audi Sport gear once again. The streets of Nuremberg hold many fond memories for the motorsport fraternity and Jack is looking forward to adding the track to his illustrious roll-call of circuits he has graced.

Buoyed by his recent successes on the track, Jack heads to Germany in confident mood. Entering a series full of more experienced counterparts with zero front-wheel drive experience, Jack has enjoyed great strides of improvement across the first two rounds. Having scored points at every opportunity, the Thunderhead-sponsored driver is looking to continue his progression this weekend.
“After back-to-back weekends in the Radical, there’s no let-up as we move straight to the Norisring this weekend. Racing on this iconic circuit in front of the fans is going to be an amazing new experience for me. Making my street circuit debut around the Norising would have been a dream a few years back, as it’s my first time on the track I am not getting hung up on the results this weekend and want to focus on having some exciting races and making the most of the whole experience.”

Jack’s continued development over the first half of the year has been pleasing for Kieren Clark, Head of the MB Partners Young Driver Academy, and Kieren hopes that Jack soaks up all the experience possible from this weekend.

“Jack has enjoyed a really positive and impressive last month on the track. He is putting in a lot of work and effort away out of the car and this is showing in his performances in both Audi Sport TT Cup and the Radical Challenge Championship. When you look back on big moments in your career, your street circuit debut will be right up there so for Jack this weekend it is all about getting everything he can out of the experience and leaving everything on the track.”

Jack takes to the streets for the first time at 14:40 on Friday for Free Practice. Qualifying follows a day later at 08:30, with the first of the weekend’s races getting underway at 14:45 on the Saturday. The final action of the weekend is on Sunday with race two kick starting at 11:10. All times are BST unless stated.
