Strong Start for Jack in the Endurance Championship with Class Podium

Jack Manchester had a highly successful weekend at his first endurance race, scoring a class podium and securing points in the Silver Cup championship. Along with teammates Nico Bastian and Jules Szymkowiak, Jack raced hard to claim third in class and twelfth in the overall standings.

After qualifying third in class, nineteenth on the overall grid, Jules took the start. The Dutchman kept it clean at the start of the race, retaining class third as he came into the pits to hand the car over to Jack.

During his longest stint in the car to date, Jack had a brilliant hour on board, running on pace with the cars around him.

54 cars were packed on the 5.793 km, high speed Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Jack quickly adapted to the experience of racing in heavy traffic.

Jack had a very good run in the car, handing over to Nico in a strong class position. The German climbed on board for the last hour of the race, finishing with the Team Thunderhead Mercedes AMG GT3 third place in class, twelfth overall. Jack’s pace was impressive over the entire weekend and he showed just how quickly he is developing in the AKKA ASP Team.

Jack Manchester said: “We had a fantastic race today. The team did a great job with set up and the car was brilliant. I was really pleased with my stint, especially considering it was my first taste of endurance racing. It was an awesome weekend for the team and I.”

Jack and Nico head to Brands Hatch in two weeks’ time for the second round of the Sprint Championship. Jack enjoys racing round the full GT circuit of the iconic British track and is looking forward to racing on home turf for the first time this season.
